Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gilbert faced off against Desert Ridge on Wednesday. Gilbert beat Desert Ridge by a goal, winning 3-2.

Campo Verde's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Gilbert, they now have a winning record of 6-5-2.

Campo Verde skirted past Gilbert 2-1 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campo Verde since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
