Preview: Roncalli Royals vs. Covenant Christian Warriors
Roncalli and Covenant Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Roncalli Royals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Covenant Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Saturday, Roncalli lost to Center Grove at home by a decisive 47-33 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Roncalli has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Noah Schmaltz, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Covenant Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-41 loss to Christel House on Tuesday. Covenant Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Roncalli has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Roncalli strolled past Covenant Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 56-41. Will Roncalli repeat their success, or does Covenant Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
