Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Millington Central's Fifth in Last Six Outings

If Munford wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Millington Central, they should've done a better job of containing Kaitlyn Holmes. The Millington Central Trojans secured a 41-35 W over the Munford Cougars on Monday thanks in part to Holmes, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Arionna Banks, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave her a new career-high.

Millington Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Munford, they dropped their record down to 7-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Millington Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-45 victory against Covington on the 21st. Munford has also already played their next contest, a 46-11 win against Brighton on the 21st.
