Basketball Recap: St. James Takes a Loss

St. James was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Socastee Braves and fell 44-12. The match marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Socastee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Minehart, who posted 19 points and five boards. That's the most points Minehart has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Smith, who scored 13 points and four steals.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Socastee, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

While St. James had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
