Softball Recap: Davis Sr. Victorious

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils beat the McClatchy Lions 4-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Layla Duarte spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addie Sinclair, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season. Madison Hunter was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Davis Sr.'s record is now 2-4. As for McClatchy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Davis Sr. will square off against Folsom at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McClatchy, they will face off against Monterey Trail at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
