Basketball Game Preview: Poca Dots vs. Scott Skyhawks

The Poca Dots will head out on the road to challenge the Scott Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poca has given up an average of 50 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Poca is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They were beaten by St. Marys 66-33. While losing is never fun, the Dots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Scott hadn't done well against Chapmanville Regional recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Skyhawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Skyhawks have posted since December 16, 2025.

Poca's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Scott, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-6.

Poca was taken down by Scott 84-56 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Dots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
