Basketball Game Preview: Panorama Panthers vs. Madrid Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Panorama Panthers take on the Madrid Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Panorama has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Madrid will arrive with 16 straight wins.

Last Friday, Panorama took a blow against Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, falling 71-31. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center are ranked 58th).

Meanwhile, Madrid was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past West Central Valley 81-34. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 25 points or more this season.

Panorama's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Madrid, their victory was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0.

Panorama was taken down by Madrid 75-42 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Panorama avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
