Auburn came into Friday's game looking for another win against Riverton, but Gradyn Hartlaub wouldn't allow it. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 win over the Trojans on Friday thanks in part to Hartlaub, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 192 yards and one touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Riverton's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

Auburn's loss came despite strong showings from Chance Crissey and Trey Boston. Crissey rushed for 181 yards and one score, while Boston gained 99 total yards and three touchdowns. Crissey didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made three total tackles (3.0 for loss).

With the victory, Riverton broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. As for Auburn, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
