Berkley is 9-1 against Athens since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Berkley Bears will head out on the road to take on the Athens Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Berkley easily dispatched Voyageur Academy two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Berkley fell just short of Avondale by a score of 49-46 last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 51-36 to Rochester. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Falcons are ranked 42nd).

Berkley's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Athens, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Berkley took their win against Athens in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 51-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berkley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
