Football Recap: Petrides Piles Up the Points Against Tilden

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Petrides). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 51-0 victory over the Tilden Blue Devils. Considering Petrides has won six games by more than 25 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Petrides' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Okwuabueze led the charge by rushing for 100 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Elias Hardt was in the mix too, providing Petrides with two TDs.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Luke Burmaster, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Petrides pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tilden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Petrides has already played their next contest, a 28-6 victory against A-Tech on the 25th. As for Tilden, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Washington on the 25th.
