Basketball Recap: Kennedy Victorious

Kennedy posted their closest victory since February 27, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Johnston Dragons, sneaking past 64-61. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 65-63 win the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Johnston, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2.

Kennedy is taking a road trip to square off against Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Xavier likes a good challenge. As for Johnston, they will challenge Waukee at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Waukee will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Johnston surely won't give up without a fight.
