Spotsylvania strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Massaponax Panthers a 2-0 shutout. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Knights have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Massaponax's batters probably weren't too happy with Jay Siefker, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up four walks).

On the hitting side, Spotsylvania saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Jake Herbst also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Spotsylvania's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Massaponax, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spotsylvania will head out to take on Courtland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Massaponax, they will face off against Riverbend at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
