            Baseball Preview: Bell Eagles vs. Legacy Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            The Bell Eagles will head out on the road to  face off against  the Legacy Tigers  at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday. The last four games Bell has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Bell fought the good fight in their extra-innings  match against Verdugo Hills  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of  8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by  just one  run.
Bell got a good showing from  Rigoberto Baltazar, who   pitched 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Baltazar has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Bell got a big performance out of  Luis Melendez, who  went 3-for-5 with three  runs and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jayden Rojas, who  went 1-for-6 with four  RBI and one  double.
 Meanwhile, Legacy posted their closest  win since April 25, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Huntington Park  4-3. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Tigers.
 Legacy's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-13. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Bell, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
 Bell was able to grind out a solid  victory over Legacy in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024, winning  8-3. Will the Eagles repeat their success,  or do  the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
