Basketball Recap: Mauldin Piles Up the Points Against Lexington

Mauldin had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Lexington Wildcats, posting a 71-44 victory. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Wildcats are ranked 180th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Eli Saint-Amour, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Armbruster, who scored 12 points.

Mauldin was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Mauldin and bumps their season record up to 18-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Lexington, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-19.
