Baseball Recap: Solon Comes Up Short

Solon had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-9-1 to make it six. They lost 10-0 to the North Royalton Bears. The Comets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for North Royalton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

For North Royalton's part, Antonio Escano made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Escano has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for North Royalton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julian Tavarez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Hanlon, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

While Solon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
