Basketball Game Preview: Central Red Devils vs. Sumner Tigers

The Central Red Devils will take on the Sumner Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Central didn't have quite enough to beat Dexter and fell 51-48. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

While Sumner didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 71-30 win over Searsport. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sumner, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Central came up short against Sumner when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 62-49. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
