Softball Game Preview: Glasgow Scotties vs. Logan County Cougars

The Glasgow Scotties will face off against the Logan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Glasgow nor Logan County posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Tuesday, Glasgow came up short against Somerset and fell 5-2. The Scotties haven't had much luck with the Briar Jumpers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Glasgow saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakylie Green, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Micah Muhlenkamp also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Logan County fell victim to Trigg County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Addison Cartas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Glasgow's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Logan County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Glasgow might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from Logan County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Scotties avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
