Volleyball Recap: Woodmore Wildcats vs. Margaretta Polar Bears

Woodmore lost against Margaretta back in September of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 3-2.

Woodmore wouldn't go down easily and took Margaretta into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-27, 23-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Ariana Florio paced Woodmore's offense, picking up 12 kills. Florio got some help from Vida Guillen and her 17 assists. Florio was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Margaretta found their leader in sophomore Tarah Hershey, who had 17 assists and nine digs.

Woodmore's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Margaretta, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Woodmore has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Cardinal Stritch on the 27th. As for Margaretta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Edison on the 28th.
