Basketball Recap: Ryler Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Braunfels over Tivy

New Braunfels was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell to the Tivy Antlers 49-43. While the Unicorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Antlers 15-10 in the first quarter.

New Braunfels lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ryler Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Yaniska Mestre, who posted 11 points and four steals.

New Braunfels' defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Tivy, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

New Braunfels will be playing in front of their home fans against Veterans Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Braunfels is facing Veterans Memorial at the right time seeing as Veterans Memorial is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Tivy, they will venture away from home to face off against Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wagner will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Tivy surely won't give up without a fight.
