Baseball Recap: Cranford Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Cranford proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Marlboro Mustangs 8-7. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Michael Tripodi was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for Cranford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Bendert, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cranford's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Marlboro, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Cranford will be playing in front of their home fans against New Providence at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marlboro, they will venture away from home to challenge Rumson-Fair Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
