Baseball Recap: Greenway Comes Up Short

Greenway fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Deer Valley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deer Valley Skyhawks. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Skyhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Trevor Myer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Greenway dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Deer Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenway will welcome Prescott at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Deer Valley, they will take on Paradise Honors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Paradise Honors will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Deer Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
