Basketball Recap: Tri County Gets the Win

Johnson-Brock came into Friday's game looking for another win against Tri County, but Drew Siems wouldn't allow it. The Trojans walked away with a 48-36 win over the Eagles on Friday with plenty of help from Siems, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 26 points along with eight boards and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Tri County's points.

Despite the loss, Johnson-Brock saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deacon Bernadt posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Bernadt also put up a block, which was his first of the season. Robert Gravatt was another key player, putting up six points and eight boards.

Tri County's record is now 5-2. As for Johnson-Brock, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Tri County and Johnson-Brock should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. The Trojans will square off against Centennial on January 2, 2026 with a big rank advantage (50 vs. 229). Meanwhile, Johnson-Brock (ranked 32nd) will meet Sterling (ranked 231st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
