Basketball Recap: White Pine Skates Past Laughlin with Ease

White Pine pushed their score to 67 the last time they played Laughlin, but on Saturday they couldn't quite do it again. The White Pine Bobcats blew past the Laughlin Cougars 49-7. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Bobcats this season.

White Pine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matt Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Those 16 points gave Thompson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Loveless, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for White Pine and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Laughlin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

White Pine and Moapa Valley will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Laughlin, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Needles at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
