Volleyball Recap: Millard North Takes a Loss

After flying high against Westview on Thursday, Millard North came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the Omaha Westside Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Millard North started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-13, 25-21.

Sydney Rogokos paced Millard North's offense, picking up seven kills. Rogokos got some help from Sarah Faust and her ten assists. Tre'Sor Porter controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Jane Kubat, who had ten digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last six matchups.

Millard North moved to 14-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Omaha Westside, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Millard North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Westview on the 18th. As for Omaha Westside, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Lincoln Southwest on the 18th.
