Baseball Game Preview: Bolsa Grande Matadors vs. Garden Grove Argonauts

Bolsa Grande hasn't had much luck against Garden Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bolsa Grande Matadors will head out to face off against the Garden Grove Argonauts at 3:15 p.m. Neither Bolsa Grande nor Garden Grove posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Friday, Bolsa Grande didn't have quite enough to beat Godinez Fundamental and fell 3-2. The matchup marked the Matadors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mikey Haley Jr. spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bolsa Grande saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rudy Carrillo, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Garden Grove fell victim to Colony and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 6-0. The Argonauts' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Bolsa Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Garden Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Bolsa Grande couldn't quite get it done against Garden Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can Bolsa Grande avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
