Baseball Recap: Lexington Victorious

Lexington owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Dwight Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Minutemen: when they faced off against the Trojans back in March, they had to take a 10-6 loss.

The result came thanks to Braeden Barber's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kayden Knight was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Drake Powell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Lexington and bumps their season record up to 16-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Dwight, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-12.

Looking ahead, Lexington will challenge Henry-Senachwine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dwight does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
