Baseball Recap: Jefferson Starts Season with Victory Against Harvard

Jefferson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Harvard Hornets 15-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the J-Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Devin Williamson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Tristan Andrews was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvard only posted an OBP of .444.

Harvard is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will square off against Woodstock at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harvard, they will welcome Rockford Auburn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
