Football Recap: La Marque's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Wheatley last Saturday, La Marque came back down to earth. The Cougars came up short against the Hitchcock Bulldogs on Friday, falling 42-21. The Cougars have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, La Marque saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deuce Walker threw for 355 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 54 yards. A healthy portion of Walker's aerial production (96 yards to be exact) went to Caden Ward.

Having lost for the first time this season, La Marque fell to 2-1. As for Hitchcock, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Marque will challenge Houston Math Science & Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hitchcock, they will square off against Bellville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
