Football Recap: St. Luke's Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

St. Luke kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 14-7 to the Rye Country Day Wildcats. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

Dylan Schorpp threw for 71 yards on eight of 16 attempts. Luke Carryl was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, Spencer Weil rushed for 43 yards.

The critical scores for Rye Country Day came from Jonah Zeiden and Caiden Howard.

St. Luke's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-15 win against Hopkins on the 12th. As for Rye Country Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-12 victory against Fieldston on the 12th.
