Basketball Recap: Carmel Comes Up Short

Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 51-39 to the Grayslake Central Rams. While losing is never fun, the Corsairs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Rams are ranked 97th).

Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Grayslake Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carmel will venture away from home to face off against Niles Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grayslake Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grayslake Central is facing Round Lake at the right time seeing as Round Lake is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
