Baseball Recap: Morro Bay Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Morro Bay entered their tilt with Pioneer Valley on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Panthers. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 5-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cruz Wilkinson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Frankie Ainley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Morro Bay pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.

Morro Bay will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
