Basketball Game Preview: Hardin Hornets vs. Anahuac Panthers

Hardin is on a six-game streak of home losses, Anahuac an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Hardin Hornets will host the Anahuac Panthers at 5:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Monday, Hardin had to suffer through a 85-28 loss at the hands of Kountze. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1187th, while the Lions are ranked 164th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Anahuac challenged Buna on Thursday. Anahuac was beaten by Buna 82-14. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-7.

Hardin's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Anahuac, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Hardin took their win against Anahuac in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 55-29. Does Hardin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Anahuac turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
