Football Game Preview: Compton Tarbabes vs. Jordan Panthers + Official Tickets

The Compton Tarbabes will challenge the Jordan Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Compton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Woodrow Wilson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tarbabes fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 23-21 two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, the Tarbabes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Bruins are ranked 174th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Leton Washington, who threw for 185 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 43 yards. Another player making a difference was Micah Hawkins, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Jordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 33-2 defeat at the hands of Lakewood. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Compton, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Compton couldn't quite get it done against Jordan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 27-15. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Panthers' Marcus Williams, who rushed for 200 yards. Now that the Tarbabes know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
