Baseball Recap: Mountain House Takes a Loss

Mountain House had lost 12 straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-18-1 to make it 13. They came up short against the Central Catholic Raiders, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-1 loss on Wednesday.

Mountain House saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

On Central Catholic's side, Kayden McHenry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. McHenry has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other pitching news, Eli Garret looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Hudson Walker was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was AJ Miligi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain House will take on Sierra at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Central Catholic, they will take on Righetti in a tournament on Wednesday.
