Baseball Game Preview: DeSoto Dragons vs. Festus Tigers

For the second straight game, DeSoto will face off against Festus. The Dragons will venture away from home to challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (DeSoto 4, Festus 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

DeSoto fell victim to Festus and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

For Festus' part, the result came thanks to Cale Schaumburg's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. Schaumburg has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

DeSoto's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Festus, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-9-1 record.
