Basketball Recap: South Barber Comes Up Short

South Barber lost against Attica back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Barber Chieftains were dealt a 67-22 loss at the hands of the Attica Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 94th).

Attica's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cady Hemphill, who went 10 of 19 en route to 24 points along with eight boards and five steals. Hemphill has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Zoie Redgate was another key player, going 7 for 15 on her way to 18 points and three steals.

South Barber's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-2. As for Attica, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

South Barber will welcome Attica at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Attica has already played their next matchup (against Norwich), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
