Madonna won the last time they faced Brooke and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Blue Dons had just enough and edged out the Bruins 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Dons have posted since October 28, 2024.

Madonna had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Geena Birkhimer paced Madonna's offense, picking up 13 kills. Birkhimer got some help from Sophie Brady and her 28 assists. Brady also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madison Owens, racking up two apiece.

Madonna's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. As for Brooke, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Madonna will be playing at home against Catholic Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brooke, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Harrison Central on the 11th.
