Softball Recap: Vernonia Comes Up Short

Vernonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 14-1 to the Portland Adventist Academy Cougars. The matchup marked the Loggers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Vernonia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Abbott, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Vernonia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Vernonia will square off against Rainier at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Loggers are facing the Columbians at the right time seeing as the Columbians are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Portland Adventist Academy, they will welcome Neah-Kah-Nie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
