It was a good run, but California Academy of Math & Science unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chadwick Dolphins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

California Academy of Math & Science started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 26-24, 25-12, 25-20.

Chadwick found their leader in freshman Bryce Cordova, who had 11 digs and four aces.

California Academy of Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Chadwick, they now have a winning record of 18-17.

Coming up, California Academy of Math & Science will take on Western at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Chadwick, they will face off against Hawthorne at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
