Baseball Recap: Tupelo Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Tupelo waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Warren Central Vikings by a score of 8-4. The Golden Wave have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Tanner Brannigan tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Andrew Kieffer was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brody Wilson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Tupelo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Central only managed six.

Tupelo's record now sits at 10-3. As for Warren Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Looking ahead, Tupelo will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Horn Lake at 7:00 p.m. The Golden Wave are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Warren Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Mountain Brook on the 13th.
