Basketball Game Preview: Union Colony Prep Timberwolves vs. Denver Waldorf Spartans

The Union Colony Prep Timberwolves will take on the Denver Waldorf Spartans in a tournament on Friday. Union Colony Prep has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 221 points over their last three games.

On Tuesday, Union Colony Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-60 to Front Range Christian. The loss put an end to the Timberwolves' undefeated start to the season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tanner Sarchet, who almost dropped a triple-double with 17 points, nine boards, and ten assists. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Herndon, who shot 54% from the field to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Denver Waldorf was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-54 to Flatirons Academy. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Bison recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Union Colony Prep fell to 2-1. As for Denver Waldorf, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Union Colony Prep couldn't quite get it done against Denver Waldorf in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 as they fell 56-48. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
