Softball Recap: Siegel Stars vs. Blackman Blaze
Siegel had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 8-12-1 to make it four. They fell just short of the Blackman Blaze by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blaze this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-11 on April 8th.
As for Blackman, the victory got them back to even at 11-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 28th.
For Blackman's part, Madison Keel looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Keel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alyssa Barber was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Sullivan, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Siegel nor Blackman have any future games scheduled.
