Softball Game Preview: Botkins Trojans vs. Covington Buccaneers

The Botkins Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Covington Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Botkins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Covington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Botkins is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Houston on Friday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 28 runs the game before, Covington was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Troy by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Covington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emalyn Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Botkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
