While Avery McHan delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Gosnell. McHan turned in nothing short of a gem, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Even though McHan couldn't lead Gosnell over Brookland, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sadly, McHan's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Pirates' five-game streak of wins at home.
