Softball Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. Coral Gables Cavaliers

The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will square off against the Coral Gables Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hialeah came up short against Miami Beach on Thursday, falling 13-7. The Thoroughbreds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nicolle Torres was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Jennifer Gonzalez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Coral Gables was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to Ferguson.

Coral Gables saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victoria Robertson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Hialeah's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Coral Gables, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Hialeah's way against Coral Gables when the teams last played back in February, as Hialeah made off with a 15-0 victory. Does Hialeah have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coral Gables turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
