Softball Recap: Archer City Beats Seymour for Their Third Straight Victory

Archer City entered their tilt with Seymour on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 back in March.

Addison Canada 2027 was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Millie Mayo 2028, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Addyson Peters 2026, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Archer City hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Archer City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Seymour, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Archer City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
