On Sunday, Devon Prep faced Roman Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Devon Prep Tide fell just short of the Roman Catholic Cahillite by a score of 70-67. The Tide's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Devon Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Shane Doyle, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Conlon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Devon Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Roman Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Devon Prep will head out to face off against Conwell-Egan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roman Catholic, they will square off against Archbishop Wood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Archbishop Wood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
