Basketball Recap: Frontier Academy Takes a Loss

Frontier Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Resurrection Christian Cougars 91-25. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-13.

Despite the loss, Frontier Academy still got an impressive performance from Emily Gesick, who posted nine points and four steals. That was a full 36% of Frontier Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Adalyne Moreno also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Resurrection Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caz McGraw out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave McGraw a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Callie Gillespie, who went 9 for 11 on her way to 24 points and four steals.

Frontier Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Resurrection Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Frontier Academy will head out to face off against Liberty Common at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Resurrection Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-36 victory against Wray on the 17th.
