Basketball Recap: Greene County Takes a Loss

Greene County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Oconee Academy Titans. The Tigers lost against the Titans in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-32 score last time.

Greene County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Greene County has already played their next contest (against Wilkinson County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lake Oconee Academy will face off against Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
