Football Recap: Greenway Gets the Win

Greenway's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the Tempe Buffaloes. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Corey Guerrero was his usual excellent self, rushing for 122 yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Greenway proved: they limited Tempe to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Matthew Theall for the heroic effort on defense: he. Greenway's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.6 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 6.8 on average over their last five games.

When it comes to explaining why Tempe lost, don't look at Mark Jackson. Despite the final result, he picked up 172 receiving yards and one score. Jackson showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 66 yards.

Greenway's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Tempe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
